Cezanne et nous in Paris: choose the date, venue and ticket

If you want to explore Cezanne’s influence on later artists, Cezanne et nous can be your Paris day’s main exhibition. Choose your date before your ticket: the exhibition runs from 23 September 2026 to 17 January 2027 at the Grand Palais. Seeing Centre Pompidou’s name does not mean you should go to Beaubourg. Monday 19 October is closed; Tuesday 20 October is the next ordinary visiting day, without any promise of ticket availability. Use the decision card below to choose between this exhibition and a different cultural day.

Does your interest extend beyond one painter?

Centre Pompidou describes a dialogue between Cezanne and artists who drew inspiration from him. Ask yourself whether you want to compare how a painter’s ideas change in other people’s work. Someone seeking a chronological account of one artist’s life may have different expectations from someone following artistic influence. Write down which experience you want before committing your day.

Choose one personal looking question: how might another painter approach a similar subject? Follow colour, form or composition rather than trying to track everything. This is a suggested way to engage with the published curatorial theme, not an assessment based on visiting the exhibition. Leave the rest of the day flexible instead of automatically booking a second major museum.

A decision card to save on your phone

  • Venue: Grand Palais, Square Jean Perrin entrance, 17 avenue du Général Eisenhower. Use the official practical page’s map alongside the exhibition’s entrance information. Beaubourg’s main building is closed for renovation; an institutional partnership does not change the visiting address.
  • Date: check both the 23 September 2026–17 January 2027 exhibition period and Monday closure. If replacing 19 October with 20 October, check actual availability in the official booking system.
  • Timed option: standard full admission for one adult is €19. If you can commit to a visiting slot, inspect the timed ticket’s conditions. Travel, food, audio guide and other museums are outside this admission-only budget.
  • Flexible option: Liberté costs €24 and allows entry without reservation on your chosen date and time only within its validity, through 3 January 2027 inclusive. These are alternatives, not a €43 total. Do not choose Liberté under these conditions for 4–17 January: the later exhibition ending does not extend the ticket.
  • Decision: make this your day’s main anchor if the date, entrance, ticket and personal access needs fit. Otherwise choose another cultural day. Any reduced or free admission eligibility requires a separate check from this full-paying-adult example.

Opening hours and your own time allowance

Ordinary exhibition hours are Tuesday–Sunday, 10:00–19:30, with Friday opening until 22:00. Note early closing at 18:00 on 24 and 31 December, closure on 25 December and exceptional opening on 1 January. Exhibition admission ends 45 minutes before closing; the on-site ticket office closes one hour before. Building hours are not a substitute for the exhibition’s admission limits.

The operator estimates an average exhibition visit of 90 minutes. As a personal planning example, adding 30 minutes for entry and a break gives 90 + 30 = 120 minutes. That extra allowance is not a measured queue time; travel is outside the block. Increase it if you prefer slower looking or longer rests. Last admission does not guarantee enough time for your entire preferred visit.

Rain, mobility and bags

In rain, retain the indoor exhibition as your anchor and drop an additional outdoor sightseeing leg. This does not establish a covered or dry entrance queue. For mobility needs, choose an exhibition-focused plan instead of adding a long neighbourhood walk. The operator documents level entry at Square Jean Perrin followed by two lifts, plus adapted toilet cubicles. This does not certify street or public transport access or guarantee working lifts on your date; check your particular needs through the same official page.

Measure your bag before leaving. Objects exceeding 42 × 30 × 20 cm are prohibited throughout the Grand Palais; the cloakroom is not an oversized-suitcase solution. Some smaller objects permitted in the building must still be deposited before entering galleries. Distinguish those two rules before buying a ticket for a luggage-heavy day.

Before you set off

Practical details were rechecked on 19 October 2026. Reopen the official exhibition, access and practical-information links below to compare dates, ticket conditions and entry rules before travelling. Do not carry this exhibition plan beyond 17 January 2027. For a broader museum choice, use the Louvre–Orsay guide; for a different day structure, use the Marais–Carnavalet plan. Neither is a compulsory extra stop. Save four lines: visiting date, Square Jean Perrin entrance, ticket type and your own time allowance.
